If Ariana Grande isn’t the next gay icon then who is???who??

How bout an actual homosexual?????

no bc that spot is reserved for Allyana GrandMarshallOfThePrideParade  aka Queen Ari SupremeCourtGranDecision #BreakFreeFromThatPrejudice

IS SHE EVEN LESBIAN THO.

NO.

I DIDN’T THINK SO.

She legalized gay marriage on her birthday when she could’ve taken that day to rest but No. Not Arighteous Generosity. She worked and fought for you and all you can (Buy) Focus (available on itunes now)  on is whether or not  she’s a lesbian? Does that matter in the Grand(e) scheme of things? I don’t think so.

Nah I don’t want someone who’s not gay to be an icon for my community I’ll pass

You call yourself an intersectional feminist but when it’s almosy AriAnointed GayRightActivist turn to wear the True Gay Icon crown to follow in the footsteps of women like

  • Lady GayGay,
  •  LesBeyoncé
  • Kelly RowLetMyGaysMarry
  •  Carly RefuseToAcceptBigotry Jepsen,
  • Britney SpearheadedTheProGayMarriageMovement,
  • Mariah CarriedTheGaysToThePromisedLand

you turn your back on her? How convenient of you of you to forget her sacrifices when she needs your support the most. It breaks my heart.

@politicabarata

turn your back on her? forget her sacrifices? I’m sorry but should we really force a community to accept someone as a representative? Actual members have already stated that they want representation from someone who is actually a part of their community besides an ally to be an icon. This isn’t to discredit her views, or to misplace allies as an unwelcome facet of gay rights activism. I’m sure she’s a good person who can be seen as a supporter but we should listen to the needs of the individuals she is trying to advocate for. Are we really going to yell at them ‘how dare you not appreciate everything she’s done for you?’ when they don’t see her as an appropriate outlet for their community? You’re going to force them to see the ‘truth’ of how they should accept Ariana Grande as a true gay icon? The community should be able to decide whose an icon as they see fit, and if they want an icon that truly represents their community as someone with the same sexuality as the community, let them! Why would they want an icon that doesn’t actually represent their movement, since they don’t possess the very trait that the movement is based on! She isn’t gay! Unless we hear otherwise from her, she isn’t. Thus, they don’t want to hail her as a champion of their movement because she isn’t one of them! This sounds harsh, I’m sorry, but honestly, what political movement has wanted their icons to be ones of outside support instead of one who fits the sexuality of the movement? I don’t know if I’m getting my point across well, but I mean that they deserve to pick their own icons without outsiders shoving whichever entertainer is their favorite down their throats to worship when they aren’t even gay.

I didnt read this b/c u said a lot but in my opinion when someone legalizes gay marriage on their birthday like Ar-I-Won’t-Stand-For-Injustice Grinding-for-those-gays did….they kinda are a gay icon I don’t make the rules. I’m just letting you know

Whatever happened to Ian McKellen as a gay icon?

Or Zachary Quinto.

Adam Lambert?

Kate McKinnon?

Ellen DeGeneres?

(Apologises I dont know any non-white gay celebrities)

Sorry I’ve never heard of any of those people but I do know ARIANA GRANDE and the SACRIFICES SHE MADE FOR GAYS AND THE FUTURE OF THE GAY COMMUNITY and i’m pretty sure legalizing gay marriage is more important than anything these nobodys have ever done

Happy Pride everyone
