my opinions on things typically align with the greater consensus on this website but sometimes i need to take a stand and voice my mind about issues that are important to me so i’m just going to make it clear right now that this is an anti-steampunk fashion blog. if you think this renfaire dumpster-diver’s clockwork fever dream after ingesting too much mead and barbiturates looks anything but desperately lame outside niche fictional settings about class don’t talk to me and don’t let my bead curtain knock off your pince nez shades with fucking gears glued all over them on the way out. i do not accept constructive criticism or offers for debate. thank you.

it really honestly frustrates me so much how ive been having to sit and fight with ace people on tumblr for years about why gay people are oppressed and they’re not and all the emotional energy i’ve expended every time i see some bullshit like “ace people have so much more free time because we’re not always thinking about sex!!1!1!1” and “im glad im not allo like you because at least i can’t get aids :)” like so many of these people are literally straight and are actively harming LGBT people. and the worst part about it is the fact that now ace people are becoming part of the conversation in the real world. so i have to sit back and watch the GSA at my school give out pride flag stickers that include the ace and demi flags but leave out the lesbian flag. or read an article that has several people talking about how much better it is to be ace than allo and how they just don’t get us wanting to have sex like the dirty gays we are. like im so tired, i thought this discourse would never surface in real life, and now i have to see straight ace people being actively celebrated while gay and trans people are still being killed and outed against their will and sent to conversion therapy and worse. and idk it just sucks. like seeing these people who not only think they’re oppressed but also actively harm LGBT people by invalidating our struggles and being louder than us in society due to the fact that they face no consequence of violence in “coming out” and in turn are becoming almost the face of our community in society without our permission. i hope eventually people start to understand why ace people and LGBT people are different and face completely different struggles but honestly im not holding my fucking breath.
